
Larry Cook, Manager, Events and Digital Metrics, IBM
Larry Cook has more than 25 years experience planning and executing integrated marketing communications programs on both the agency and client side for a variety of business-to-business and business-to-consumer industries. Larry joined IBM in1996 and early last year joined a small team chartered to create what has become the world’s largest Virtual Event implementation. In the first 9 months, more than 80 events were executed within the IBM Virtual Event Center with the volume of events anticipated to double in 2011.
Prior to life at IBM, he served as the Vice President Client Service for Kowal Associates, a direct marketing consulting firm in Boston, as well as working for advertising agencies in New York City and Seattle. He is the recipient of numerous IBM awards including the 2007 Golden Helix Award, Global Marketing Excellence Award, the Vice President of Marketing Award, Bravo Marketing and Americas Marketing Talent Spotlight Awards.
Larry holds an MBA from The University of Texas at Arlington and a BA in Speech and Drama from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He is a frequent presenter at the Direct Marketing Association and Business Marketing Association, where he has been recognized as a Certified Business Communicator. He has also taught upper level undergraduate marketing courses at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Larry lives in Dallas and, next to executing virtual events, his favorite passions are traveling and his Saluki, Lola.
