Kathryn Barrett has long been dedicated to the cause of promoting O’Reilly Media’s books, products, and authors to the world at large. Part PR mastermind, part closet nerd, she truly enjoys writing about things like bash, Knoppix, ASP.NET–you name it. In recent years, she has turned her focus to building O’Reilly’s online event program, operating on the firm belief that webinars and online conferences are not inherently soporific in nature but instead can be fun and informative for attendees, and a key strategic initiative for companies. In her spare time, Kathryn enjoys reading, writing, birding, and backpacking in the wilderness areas of Northern California. She lives with her husband and cats in the Bay Area.
