Jonathan Finkelstein is founder and executive producer of LearningTimes. Widely regarded as a leading pioneer in producing live online events and virtual conferences, Finkelstein is the author of Learning in Real Time (Wiley/Jossey-Bass), which translates nearly fifteen years of experience into a practical resource guide. Finkelstein also authored the chapter on live online outreach in the The Digital Museum: A Think Guide, published by the American Association of Museums (AAM), and is a host and producer of numerous podcasts about creating engaging online programming. As the founder of the first online certification program on real-time online instruction, Finkelstein shares his expertise leading effective events and building community with association, education and training professionals worldwide.
Finkelstein is the moderator and producer of literally thousands of live webcasts, online conferences, 3D virtual world events and massive online games for association, education, training, library, publishing and museum professionals. He has well over 25,000 hours of live online facilitation experience to his name, and is the trusted web emcee for groups as diverse as the American Association of Museums (AAM), Tufts University, the NYC Schools Chancellor, and the Smithsonian Institution. A frequent keynote and featured speaker, he serves as a member of the board of the AAM Media and Technology Committee, and is a well-known online voice facilitating online learning conversations in numerous interactive formats. Finkelstein is also the creator of the open source BadgeStack platform, which enables badge-empowered informal learning. He is the son of two New York City public school teachers, is a Certified Synchronous Training Professional (CSTP) and received his AB degree with honors from Harvard University.
